Heavy showers for some

Tuesday
A slack area of low pressure remains over the British Isles on Tuesday, centred over Scotland. Showers developing during the morning, initially over western coasts and hills. These then becoming heavier and more widespread into the afternoon, a risk of some thunder too and more so across northern and eastern areas. Longer spells of rain is also expected for a time across Northern Ireland into northern parts of Ireland. Highest chance of some sunshine in southern Ireland, southwest England and the far north of Scotland. Highs at 12 to 17C.

Tuesday Night
Overnight, it progressively dries up across much of England and Scotland. Longer spells of rain continue for much of the night through Northern Ireland into northern parts of Ireland but break up and become patchy, perhaps moving towards northwest Wales. Mainly dry with clear spells elsewhere. Lows dropping reasonably cool again to 4 to 7C though cooler still in some isolated, sheltered spots.

Wednesday
A slack area of low pressure drifts to the east on Wednesday. The more northerly flow that then affects the British Isles brings some heavy showers into southern Scotland, northern and eastern parts of England and these could be thundery at times as they slip through the Midlands and southern England. However, the nature of the showers is very hit and miss and so some places will be dry. Sunny spells to the west, again though with a risk of a shower in eastern Ireland and Wales. Brighter skies in northern and eastern Scotland although a shower risk here too. Highs at 14 to 18C.

Holiday Thursday
An area of low pressure looks like it will move down from Iceland on Thursday towards northern Scotland and bring showers as well as longer spells of rain to many regions of Scotland, Northern Ireland into northern parts of Ireland. As the day progresses parts of Wales as well as northern and central regions of England will too see some showery rain, though confidence in this at this stage is low. Drier with the best of the sunshine in the far south of England and southern Ireland. A muggy feeling day with highs at 16 to 21C.
