A warm front will be over eastern Scotland on Thursday with a cold front to the west. Plenty of cloud in Scotland and Northern Ireland, some outbreaks of rain too with drizzle on hills. The most persistent rain will be affecting western Scotland in the afternoon. Rain and drizzle also passing through Ireland though some sunny intervals expected. A few spots of drizzle over the hills of northern England. Drier for England and Wales, perhaps some sunshine in the far south. Highs at 11C in northwest Scotland, 20C in central and southern England.

Thursday Night
Overnight, cloud continues to affect the north and west with outbreaks of rain progressively turning heavier and more persistent across west Scotland, north and west Ireland and Northern Ireland. Patchy, lighter rain reaching east Scotland and northwest England. Elsewhere, dry with clear spells. Lows at 8 to 12C.
 

Friday
Fronts passing through the UK and Ireland again on Friday. These bring lots of cloud with periods of rain, mostly to northern England, Wales, southern Ireland and southern Scotland. The rain reaching southern England in the afternoon. Brighter weather with sunshine and scattered showers follows into Northern Ireland and Scotland, the heaviest showers in western Scotland. A breezier day for many. Tops at 12C in northern Scotland, 19C in southern England.

Saturday
High pressure builds on Saturday. Cloud and possible drizzle for many in the east in the morning with outbreaks of rain in the far southeast. Sunnier in the west and north, drier here too. Highs near 12C on the cooler east coast, 17 to 20C in the south and west.
