Thursday
Some early morning wintry showers may affect parts of eastern England on Thursday morning. These will slip into East Anglia and the South East before fading away. Increasing cloud across the west of the UK Will bring light rain across Ireland together with murky conditions. Western parts of Wales, Southwest England and western Scotland as well as Northwest England will become increasingly damp and during the day with mist and fog on coasts and hills. The best of the sunshine across eastern areas. Another chilly day with temperatures around 3°C on the eastern coasts but lifting across Ireland to 9°C.


Thursday Night
Staying cold in eastern areas tonight with a frost in places. Western parts will be cloudier with further outbreaks of drizzle although more persistent rain will cross Ireland and Scotland during the night. The rain in may turn to snow for a time over the hills of Scotland. Staying dry in the east. Lowest temperatures at -1C in the east, but closer to 7C in the west.
 


Friday
A westerly flow through the country on Friday as a week region of high pressure builds to the west. Fronts will be bringing plenty of cloud through the morning with the rain across Northern parts of the country. The most persistent rain is likely across southern Scotland and north-east England although they should ease late morning. Plenty of drizzle and patchy rain affecting western coast and hills with some drizzle to in the east. Low cloud is likely for many, although brief breaks may occur here and there. A milder day foremost although the far Southeast could stay cool. Highs at 10C in Ireland and the western UK, 5C in southeast England and northern Scotland.


Saturday
Low pressure to the east of the UK on Saturday will force associated fronts southwards through the country. These fronts bring areas of rain, some of it heavy across southern Scotland, Northern England, Wales, Southwest England and eastern Ireland in the morning. There may be some sleet or snow over the hills. The rain then passes through all other areas during the afternoon. Following will be much brighter but cooler weather. Heavy, wintry showers developing across northern and western Scotland and these will move into Ireland through the morning. The showers then affecting western parts of England and Wales in the afternoon and turning increasingly to sleet and snow. Heavy periods of snow could affect western Scotland and later Northern Ireland. A strong northwest wind developing. Highs at 9C in southeast England, but 4C in northern Scotland.
