Cloud and chilly
Drizzle north & west

Thursday
An early frost in southeast England this morning. Some sunny spells here and dry, although cloud is going to be increasing through the day. More cloud to the north and west with the risk of some drizzle over the high ground of northern England and Wales as a front edges southwards. Low cloud and murk in the far west of Scotland and western Ireland too. A few brighter spells in eastern Scotland this afternoon. Highs at 5C in southeast England, 7C in western Wales and 9C in Ireland and western Scotland.

Thursday Night
A cloudier night overall. Low cloud and some drizzle in East Anglia and southeast England. Rather misty for many areas with some low cloud and fog affecting western coasts and hills. More persistent drizzle with low cloud and fog patches affecting the west of Scotland and northwest Ireland. Lows at 3 to 7C.

Friday
A ridge of high pressure over the country on Friday, but with the remnants of a front affecting the far south of England. There will be cloud and some spots of drizzle in the southeast on Friday morning, this easing at it gets brighter through the day. Coud should break in most of England and Wales to allow some bright spells to come through, although western coasts and hills are always prone to some low cloud and drizzle. Further drizzle and low coud for the far west of Scotland and western Ireland, brighter in the east. Highs at 7 to 9C.

Saturday
A brisk west to northwest wind affects the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Outbreaks of drizzle in northern and western areas, mostly on windward coasts and hills. Drier in the south with increasing cloud, just a few bright spells in the east. A mild day with temperatures at 7 to 10C.
