Wednesday
A cold and icy start to the morning for most of us. There will be lots of sunshine for most, but over western coasts and hills a few snow showers could occur. These are going to be continuing into this afternoon, although again for most areas it should be staying sunny but cloud. Highs around 2 to 4C.
 

Wednesday Night
A cold night ahead as skies clear and any snow showers in the west fade away. A few snow showers may linger in northern Scotland. Light winds will allow frost to become widespread. Lowest temperatures at -10C in central Scotland, widely -2 to -4C.

 
 
 

Thursday
Low pressure to the south of Ireland will push fronts north and east through Thursday. This brings some heavy rain to southern Ireland and the far southwest of England in the morning. As the rain moves north and east across Northern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and southern England in the afternoon it will turn increasingly to snow. Most over high ground, but some eventually faling at lower levels too. Scattered snow showers in northern and eastern Scotland but for most of Scotland it should be a dry day with plenty of sunshine. Fine and sunny for much of northern England and eastern England as well. Highs at 7C in the far southwest, 2 to 4C for most other areas.

Friday
Low pressure is close to southern coasts of England on Friday. Fronts wrapped around the low will be bringing periods of rain, sleet and snow into Ireland, Wales and much of England overnight into Friday. This may allow for a period of several hours of snow, probably in the north Midlands and northern England which could lead to disruption. However, there is much uncertainty in this at the moment. Snow showers in northern Scotland, otherwise mostly far. Perhaps drier and milder n the far south of England. Highs at 7C in southern England, more widely 2 to 3C.
