Cold for all
Damp in west

Friday
A cold morning with cloud increasing from the west. There will be rain in eastern Ireland, western Wales and the west of England, this turning to snow over the high ground of Wales. The rain and sleet edges eastwards into the Midlands and much of western England in the afternoon, most of it being light. Brighter spells and a few showers in Ireland. Staying dry in eastern Scotland and eastern England. Feeling cold for all. Highs at 3 to 5C but to 7C in the far southwest.

Friday Night
Rain in eastern areas of England overnight. The rain turning patchier to the west and many areas becoming dry. There will be some cloud shrouding the hills and it will be chilly. A few spots of sleet over eastern Scotland. Lows near 0 to 4C.

Saturday
Plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain for England and Wales on Saturday. Some areas will be drier whilst others experience a damp day. It may be that northwest England sees most drier weather. Scotland will have drier weather too with some sunny spells here. Showers or rain may trouble the Southern Uplands. Highs at a chilly 3 to 5C in eastern areas, 10C in southwest England.

Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds through the UK and Ireland on Sunday. There may be some bright spells at first, although cloud and patchy rain could affect eastern England. Morning mist and fog patches slowly lifting. An occluded front brings some rain into western Scotland, Wales and western England through the morning, this troubling Ireland too. Most of it will only be showery and light. Highs at 4 to 8C.
