Mostly fine in the south
Breezy and some rain in the north

Tuesday
Weakening fronts in the north and west will move south into Northern Ireland, Wales and Central England. High pressure to the southwest of Ireland will move slowly east. A mostly cloudy start with patchy, mainly light rain or drizzle for Ireland, Wales and England but any dampness will become largely confined to western coasts and hills, with some sunshine breaking through to the east. Scotland will be mostly dry, only isolated light showers and with sunny intervals developing, especially in the east. Breezy in the north and west, with strong winds for Northern Scotland. Cool in the north, highs of 9 to 13C, 15 to 19C across the Midlands and up to a fairly warm 20 to 22C in the south.

Tuesday Night
Rain or drizzle at times around northern and western parts of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Northern England, especially coasts and hill slopes exposed to the west or southwesterly breeze. Dry across much of the rest of England but with skies becoming cloudier. A chilly night for Northern Scotland with lows near to freezing for a time in sheltered spots, values rising southwards gradually and holding into double figures across most of England and Wales.

Wednesday
High pressure to the south of Ireland will drift east. A weak cold front over Central / Southern England, Wales and Northern Ireland at first will return northeast as a warm front. Still mostly cloudy for northern and western areas of England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland with some rain or drizzle and while this will become patchy and die out from many parts, the west of Scotland will see more persistent rain. Staying dry across much of England and Wales with the chance of sunny intervals developing. Strong west or southwest winds for the north and west. Highs 13 to 15C in the north, 17 to 18C around the Midlands and a reasonably warm 19 to 22C in the south again.

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure over Southern Britain, with a cold frontal trough over Scotland and Northern Ireland moving south as a weakening feature. Rain or drizzle over Scotland and Ireland spreading south into northern and central parts of England and Wales but turning light and patchier. Sunny intervals develop to the north, with some showers into western areas, while the south and east will stay largely dry with some sunshine. Highs 11 to 15C in the north, warmer at 19 to 21C in the south.
