Monday
A slack pressure pattern and the remnants of previous fronts results in a complex day, with a risk of rain or drizzle widely across England from around Dorset to East Yorkshire. Some heavy falls, and rain may persist for many hours in central-eastern England. The north and west of Britain and Ireland will be generally fair with some sunshine. A few showers around the west coasts of Scotland. Light winds for most, but locally gusty. Highs 11 to 15C, cool in rain.

Monday night
Dregs of rain and drizzle may linger in south-eastern areas, but most places will be dry. Variable cloud and some clear spells, best in the west and north. Fronts over the Atlantic brings thickening cloud to Ireland and far west of Scotland, where patchy rain may move in through the night on strengthening southerly winds. Fog and low cloud likely extensive for much of England & Wales. Locally dipping close to freezing in Scotland, but lows typically 6 to 10C, or milder south-east.

Tuesday
Low pressure over the Atlantic will push fronts into Scotland and Ireland, bringing rain and brisk southerly winds. Some rain also reaching Irish Sea coasts of England and Wales later, and arriving in the south-west too by evening. Staying dry for most central regions. A chance of fog patches in the morning. Variable cloud and a little sun breaking through. Residual drizzle possible in the east. Temperatures reaching 13 to 17C, locally warmer in East Anglia.

Wednesday
A westerly breeze influences the country as weakening fronts pass eastwards. A little rain moves across central-southern England early in the day, followed by sunshine and showers, the rain most frequent toward western Scotland during the day. Lengthy dry periods for much of England & Wales. Pressure builds from the south-west later. Feeling fresh, highs 10 to 13C north & west, 14 to 16C in the Midlands, south and east.
