Cool mainly dry Monday
Dull and damp Tuesday

Monday
High pressure lies toward the south-west. A fresh northwesterly pattern influences the British Isles. Brief showers are possible around coastal areas in the east and west, clipping west Wales and running into north Devon and Cornwall. Most places staying dry all day. Variable cloud and spells of sunshine. Fronts coming in from the Atlantic will see cloud thicken in the north-west, then rain develops and sets in for western Scotland later. Feeling cool, highs 11 to 16C.

Monday night
Rain affects western Scotland, and spreads south and east during the night. Patchy rain for eastern Scotland, but some more persistent falls developing for north-west England, extending to west Wales before dawn. A dull and damp picture for much of central-northern England & Wales early on Tuesday. Staying dry in the far south & south-east. A fresh westerly breeze. Cool, but generally avoiding a frost. Lows 5 to 10C.

Tuesday
Fronts extend west to east across the country. A cloudy day with occasional rain, focused across Wales and western counties of England. Patchy rain or local showery bursts drift east across the Midlands. Very little rain toward the south-east. Best of any sunshine toward the north-east. Brief showers in western Scotland. A cool westerly breeze; windiest in northern Scotland. Highs 15 to 17C in the far south, but just 12 to 15C for many.

Wednesday
A west to southwesterly pattern brings mild air across the country. High pressure resides across southern Britain. Fronts toward the north-west will produce a lot of cloud for Scotland, north-west England & Wales, also Ireland. Occasional rain or drizzle for western coasts and hills. Dry and bright for central & south & eastern England & Wales. Strongest breeze toward the north-west. Highs 12 to 19C, warmest in the east.
