Monday
A mild day in the south but quite a windy one with gusts to 60 mph over the hills of northern Scotland. Strong south west winds also develop through the channel with gusts to 50 mph along the channel coasts in the afternoon. A cloudy morning for most with outbreaks of rain. This will be heaviest across England and Wales. The rain clears to sunnier spells across Scotland and Northern Ireland with showers. By the end of the afternoon the rain is likely to be across East Anglia and the south east as it turns sunnier from the west. Lots of showers to affect and area from northern Wales into Scotland and Northern Ireland. The showers turn wintry over the Highlands. Expect maximums of 7 to 12 Celsius.


Monday Night
A windy evening and night across Britain with gusts of 45-50 mph across England and Wales. An area of rain runs in across Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England and tends to turn to snow as it clears. Heavy rain with snow over the hills to affect northern Scotland in the night. Some rain to is expected across northern England and this may also turn wintry over the Pennines. A few showers to come across Wales and the south west, these of snow across Snowdonia. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius.


Tuesday
A cooler day across Britain and quite windy with gales in the north. The strong winds will lessen in the afternoon. Northern and western parts of Britain will have scattered showers, these wintry over the hills from Wales northward. Most central and eastern parts of England should be essentially dry with good spells of sunshine. It becomes very windy for the evening and night across England and Wales. An area of heavy rain spreads into England and Wales in the evening with snow over the high ground of Wales. Overnight it stays wet across central and eastern parts of England. A few wintry showers to affect the north. Expect high temperatures of 6 to 9 Celsius.


Wednesday
Increasingly windy across the north and west today. Outbreaks of rain across East Anglia and the south east clears away this morning. A number of showers develop across Britain through the day along with dry, sunnier spells. Showers over the Scottish hills will be wintry. Windy for the evening and night and turning quite cold with snow showers to low levels across northern Scotland. Gusts of 40 mph to affect North Sea coasts. Most other areas will be dry with clear spells. Some icy patches to develop as temperatures drop below freezing. Look for high temperatures of 7 to 10 Celsius.
