Mild, cloudy south
Showery Scotland

Thursday
Mild and cloudy this morning across southern parts of Ireland and the south of England. Drizzle may affect the coasts of southern England and Ireland. A tendency for the risk of drizzle to increase this afternoon across southern Ireland and southwest England with plenty of fog on the coasts here. At the opposite end of the country there will be a stiff northwest breeze with heavy showers in sentral and northern Scotland this morning. These showers easing into the afternoon and becoming much more isolated later. Elsewhere there will be broken cloud with bright spells and turning brighter with sunny spells for many this afternoon. Highs at 14C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland.

Thursday Night
A damp and murky night across Ireland and the western coasts of Wales and England this evening. These outbreaks of drizzle and patchy rain edges east into the Midlands and southern England as the night progresses. More persistent, yet still light rain arriving in western Scotland later in the night. Eastern parts of Scotland and England are going to have some clear skies at first although cloud increases as the night progresses. Lows at 3C in central Scotland, 10C in southwest England.

Friday
An area of high pressure is expected to be centred over southeast England on Friday. A warm front passes northeast through Ireland and into Scotland. This brings lots of cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle to more western areas. There will be some fog affecting the hills of western England, Wales and Scotland as well as Ireland. More eastern and southern areas will likely start cloudy with some drizzle on hills, but this cloud breaking to leave some decent spells of sunshine. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 15C in any sunshine in southern England.

Saturday
A cold front passing eastwards during Saturday. This takes periods of rain with it as a ridge of high pressure builds fro the west. The most persistent of any rain will be in Scotland, but this clears away quickly. Cloud and some showers in southeast England through the day but these will only be light. A ridge of high pressure builds from the west bringing dry weather and some bright or sunny periods. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern England.
