Cloudy skies for many places throughout the day, although some sunshine should break through across central-southern England. A weak cold front across the west & north brings outbreaks of rain or drizzle, which will tend to fade by afternoon. Sunshine developing across Ireland. Little wind for most, a slight south or south-westerly breeze. Top temperatures 10 to 12C north & west, 13 to 15C Midlands and south-east.


Saturday night
Dry for most of Britain into the first part of the night, although residual patches of rain may linger in the west. Gradually, outbreaks of rain may develop more widely across the country as fronts nudge eastwards. A more organised zone of rain is likely to moves across Ireland from the west, some heavy bursts. Cloud across England & Wales keeps it mild at 6 to 10C. Some clear spots in Scotland will dip to 2 to 5C.


Sunday
Weakening fronts drift slowly eastwards across the country. Extensive cloud cover. Patchy rain in western Britain, may locally persist for a few hours. Meanwhile, central and eastern parts are likely to see showery bursts of rain develop. Brightening skies should nudge into the far west. Ireland will see sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds mostly light. Breezy on western coasts. Highs 9 to 13C, warmest in east.


Monday
A ridge of high pressure builds across the country, bringing a fair day to much of Britain & Ireland. A good amount of sunshine. Thicker cloud in the north-west, and patchy rain may affect western Scotland. Winds fairly light, although a fresh northerly breeze affects coasts in the south-east, whilst south-westerlies affect the north. A rural grass frost in the north at dawn. Top temperatures 10 to 14C.
