Cool & cloudy to start
Turning wet and windy on Tuesday

Sunday
An easterly flow through Sunday affecting all areas as high pressure remains to the north of Scotland and low pressure persists over mainland Europe. There will be some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle in the east and along south coasts too. Mostly dry elsewhere with sunny spells, the best of which will be in western Scotland. A chilly day, cold on eastern coasts with high temperatures at 5 to 9C.

Sunday Night
A clear night for many with the exception of Ireland and eastern coasts of Scotland and England which will remain cloudy. Some drizzle and mist or fog developing along eastern coasts. Some ground frost may develop under clearer skies where temperatures will drop close to freezing. Lows at 1 to 6C.

Monday
High pressure remains north of Scotland on Monday with low pressure west of the UK. The result is a change in wind direction for western parts of the British Isles to a milder, more southerly flow. Rather cloudy for most places with outbreaks of rain for eastern areas. Cloud and rain accompanied by strengthening winds will begin moving into the far west of Ireland through the late evening and overnight. Feeling cold at 6 to 8C.

Tuesday
A low pressure system is located to the west of Ireland on Tuesday with higher pressure to the east. Strong winds and rain arriving in Ireland through the morning and pushing eastward across much of the United Kingdom by evening. The heaviest rain will be in southwest of Ireland and across the south of England. Some sunny spells in the far east. Highs at 5 to 12C.
