Monday
High pressure remains north of Scotland on Monday with low pressure over the Atlantic to the west of the UK. The result is a change in wind direction for western parts of the British Isles to a milder, more southerly flow. Rather cloudy, particularly for coastal areas with outbreaks of rain in the east. The best of the sun and brightness will be for western Scotland, western England and north Wales. Cloud and rain accompanied by strengthening winds will begin moving into the far west of Ireland through the late evening and overnight. Feeling cold at 5 to 8C.

Monday Night
Cloud amounts will increase from the west through the night covering most of the British Isles by Tuesday morning. A frontal band of rain which will be heavy in places will follow with much of Ireland waking up to wet weather on Tuesday morning too. Under the cloud in the west it will feel mild but clearer skies to the east will allow temperatures to drop further and a touch of ground frost to develop overnight. Lows of 5 to 9C in Ireland, 0 to 4C everywhere else.

Tuesday
Strong winds, briefly touching gale force for exposed coastal areas, and rain cover most of Ireland by Tuesday morning and will push further eastward across much of the United Kingdom by Tuesday evening. The heaviest rain will be in southwest of Ireland, southern Wales and southwest England. Behind the rain there will be some clearer skies, particularly over Ireland. Highs at 5 to 12C.

Wednesday
A low pressure system is centred over the Atlantic to the west of Scotland extending a trough over the British Isles. This will lead to a cloudy, wet and windy day on Wednesday. The cloud may break in the south leaving some sunny spells in the late afternoon. Winds may reach gale force over higher ground and along coasts. Highs at a much milder 10 to 14C.
