Heavy showers for south-west England, also southern Ireland, locally frequent. Generally dry for central England and Wales, but overcast and murky. A little sun should try to break through to the west of high ground. Showers also affect eastern Scotland and north-east England, perhaps giving frequent rain on North Sea coasts, and snow over the eastern Scottish Highlands. Western Scotland and Northern Ireland stay mainly dry. Feeling cool, mostly 4 to 7C, locally 10C south.

Friday night
A murky and damp night with extensive low cloud and hill fog. Further pulses of rain will affect southern coastal counties of England, and a few showers are possible into the Midlands and Wales. Patchy rain for eastern Scotland and north-east England, with snow on the Scottish mountains. Some clear breaks toward the north-west. A general easterly breeze. Temperatures 2 to 6C for most, but nearer to 0C in Scotland, with frost in Highland glens.

Saturday
A cool day with an easterly breeze across the British Isles. Showers will be focused on eastern regions. A zone of more frequent rain may also affect south-west England and English Channel coasts, with some heavy bursts setting in for a few hours in places. A lot of cloud, and many areas will be rather murky, with fog over the hills. Best sunny breaks toward the west & north-west of Britain and Ireland. Temperatures ranging from 5 to 7C in the north, 8 to 10C in the south.

Sunday
High pressure stays to the north of Britain, whilst low pressure is to the south. A cool, dull and damp easterly pattern continues. Some persistent rain may develop around English Channel coasts. A few showers in eastern districts, locally frequent near North Sea coasts. Central and western areas mainly dry, with sunshine best toward western Scotland and north-west England. A few showers may affect eastern Ireland. Feeling cool in the breeze, highs 5 to 9C.
