Sunday
Much of England and Wales will stay dry during the daytime. Sunshine best toward the east, whilst high cloud builds from the west. A frontal system affects Scotland and Ireland, bringing increasingly heavy rain, spilling eastwards during the day. Small amounts of rain reaching northeast Scotland. Patchy rain pushing onto Irish Sea coasts of England and Wales. Strong southerly winds, gales around west coasts and hills. Highs 16 to 19C Midlands, south and east, 12 to 14C north and west.

Sunday night
Rain turns heavy across northwest England and Wales by evening and continues into the night, advancing gradually eastwards across northern England and into the Midlands later in the night. Rain clears from Scotland and Ireland, but strong to gale force westerly winds bring showers to western Scotland, some heavy with hail. Staying mild in the south, temperatures around 10C. As skies clear further north, it will drop to 5C or below, local slight frost in sheltered valleys by dawn.

Monday
A weakening front brings cloud and some patchy rain to southeast England in the morning, but this will be fading out with brightening skies into the afternoon. Windy with some heavy showers in north and western Scotland. A few showers in northwest England will fade. Generally dry across central England and Wales as a ridge of high pressure builds bringing good sunny spells, the best of them in the east. Feeling fresh in the breeze, 11C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.

Tuesday
A ridge of high pressure extends across the southern half of Britain. Dry with bright or sunny spells after morning mist and fog patches clear. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in western Scotland and northwest Ireland. Northwest England and Wales should be mainly dry barring an odd patch of light rain developing, fairly cloudy here. Light winds in the south, freshening southwesterly breezes in the northwest. Highs 12 to 15C.
