The remnants of a cold front are going to be clearing southern England and southern Wales this morning. Most places are dry although there is a low risk of an isolated spot of rain in the far southeast. Sunnier skies across the rest of England, Wales, eastern and southern Scotland. Cloud increasing in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest Ireland, bringing a few spots of rain this afternoon. Little change to the south although always more broken cloud this afternoon in northern England and Ireland. A cool day in the south at 18C, chilly in northern Scotland at 11C.

Friday Night
A cold night into Saturday morning. Skies will be clear for many with a few mist and fog patches too. Increasing winds in Scotland allowing for some drizzle in the northwest, but dry elsewhere. Ireland should be dry and cool. Lows at 2 to 7C.

 
 
 

Saturday
High pressure remains in control of the weather for much of England, Wales, eastern and southern Scotland and Ireland on Saturday. This brings lots of sunshine and dry weather, after a chilly start. Cloud tending to increase in the north in the afternoon although still with sunny spells. Windier weather in Scotland with severe gales in the north where there will be outbreaks of rain. Highs at 18C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.

Sunday
Fronts passing south through the UK and Ireland on Sunday will be turning to wind into a colder northwesterly direction. The fronts bringing some showery spots of rain with them, most on windward facing coasts and hills. More cloud than on recent days for most, although still with some bright or sunny spells, especially where sheltered from the breeze by higher ground. Heaviest and most frequent of the showers always around northern and western coasts. Feeling particularly cold in the wind with temperatures reaching 10C in northern Scotland, 17C in southeast England.
