Sunday
Staying dry for central, south and eastern regions of Britain and Ireland. Greater amounts of cloud than previous days, and a stronger breeze from the north-west. A few showers are likely in the west & north - these most frequent in northern Scotland where falling as snow on the higher mountains. Showers typically brief for western coasts of England & Wales. Best of the sunshine and temperatures toward the south-east, where highs up to 17C. Nearer 11 to 14C for the north & west.

Sunday night
A few showers may skirt North Sea coasts, and the odd shower may affect some western coasts too. Many places will stay dry, with cloud breaking up to give lengthy clear spells. A cool breeze from the north/north-west. Sheltered rural spots may see a touch of frost by dawn, with isolated fog patches in low-lying valleys. Temperatures dipping to 4 to 7C, but 1 to 3C in rural areas, or just below freezing in Scotland, also far north of England.

Monday
High pressure lies toward the south-west. A fresh northwesterly pattern influences the British Isles. Brief showers are possible around coastal areas in the east and west, but most places staying dry all day. Variable cloud and spells of sunshine. Broadly dry for Scotland and Ireland, but fronts coming in from the Atlantic will see cloud thicken, then rain develops and sets in for western Scotland later. Feeling cool, highs 11 to 16C.

Tuesday
Fronts extend west to east across the country. A cloudy day with occasional rain, focused across Wales, whilst patchy rain or local showery bursts may pass east across the Midlands. Very little if any rain toward the south & south-east. Best of any sunshine toward the north-east. Brief showers in western Scotland. A cool westerly breeze. Highs 15 to 17C in the far south, but just 12 to 15C for many.
