Broken cloud across southern areas of the country today. There will be some bright or sunny spells breaking through the cloud, mostly in south Wales and southwest England. A threat of some spots of rain affecting the coasts of East Anglia and southeast England. Fairer weather in central and northern areas of England, north Wales, southern and eastern Scotland with sunshine here. Fine in eastern Ireland with lots of sunshine but increasing cloud in the west and turning wet here this afternoon. Increasing cloud in western Scotland bringing rain later. Temperatures at 22C in southern England, 15C in western Ireland and Scotland.

Wednesday Night
Some cloud and a brisk breeze affecting East Anglia and southeast England with some spots of rain on the coasts. A front brings showery periods of rain through southern and western Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northwest England, northern and western Wales. Colder weather follows to Scotland and Ireland with showers on coasts. Drier in the rest of England and Wales. Lows at 4 to 11C.

Thursday
Low pressure brings a mixed day on Thursday. Fronts drive showery bands of rain south through the UK and Ireland, most of the rain in Scotland, Ireland and northern England as well as Wales, but almost all areas are likely to see at least some rain. Sunny spells between the shower bands. Cool in the northwest wind with tops at 21C in southern England, 13C in northern Scotland.

Friday
Low pressure off eastern Scotland on Friday. A windy and cloudy day bringing rain across much of Scotland and northeast England, this rain spreading westwards with the rain heavy at times. England and Wales as well as Ireland will be cool and bright with sunny spells. Scattered showers on western coasts and hills but drier elsewhere. A breezy day for all but the far south of Ireland and southwest England. Highs at 12 to 14C for many but 18C in southeast England.
