Rain or drizzle in the north
Sunshine in the south

Thursday
Pressure remains high over Southern Britain but with a weakening occlusion / cold frontal trough moving south across Scotland, before returning north later. Rain, becoming increasingly light and patchy will moves south across Central / Southern Scotland into northern Ireland, perhaps reaching Northern England, followed by sunny intervals and isolated light showers, although rain or drizzle will move into Western Scotland later. Much of England and Wales will be dry with variable cloud cover and spells of sunshine, just the slight risk of a shower around Northwest England and North Wales. Fresh to strong west or southwest winds in the north. Still quite cool for many parts with highs of 14 or 15C but the east and south of England will see values of around 19 to 20C.

Thursday Night
Rain or drizzle moving east across Ireland and Scotland,, although some eastern parts may stay dry. Rain or drizzle is likely to affect Northwest England and West Wales too but the rest of England and Wales will be dry. A cool night generally with lows typically 7 to 10C and a couple of degrees lower for some sheltered spots.

Friday
Low pressure runs east to the north of Scotland, with a cold front moving south across Scotland, Northern Ireland and into Northern England as weakening feature. Rain will move south across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England and start to turn lighter and more patchy, with showers and sunny intervals to the north. Western areas of England will have showers but it will be dry elsewhere with sunny spells developing. Breezy in the north at first. Quite cool, highs 13 to 16C in the north, 17 to 19C in the south.

Saturday
A ridge of high pressure, extending north, at first will transfer east as low pressure to the northwest drives frontal troughs across Scotland and Ireland. Dry across much of England Wales with some brightness or hazy sunshine but there may be some drizzle around coasts and hills in Northwest England and North Wales. Mostly light rain or drizzle at first around Western Scotland and northern and western parts of Ireland will give way to more persistent and heavier rain during the evening and overnight.
