Rain in the north and west
Winds strengthening

Monday
A warm front will move north across Britain and Ireland during the day, ahead of a vigorous low that will approach Southwest Ireland by late afternoon and move north east across Ireland into Scotland and Northern England as a complex feature. Spells of rain for Scotland and Ireland, becoming heavy at times and with occasional light rain or drizzle over Wales and the west of England. Dry for Central, Southern and Eastern England with spells of sunshine developing. Strengthening south or southeast winds move into Southern Ireland and areas bordering the Irish Sea during the afternoon and evening. Highs 15 to 19C the north and west, a warmer 22 to 25C towards the southeast.

Monday Night
Further rain over Scotland and Ireland with heavier rain moving into Wales and Northern England too. Dry for much of Central, Eastern and Southern England but with some rain or drizzle around the southwest of England. The strong winds, with localized gales, propagate east across Wales and Northern England for a time overnight, bringing a risk of some disruption or damage but wind strengths will moderate by the end of the night. A mild night generally with low holding up into double figures and it will remain very mild in the southeast.

Tuesday
A complex low over Scotland and Northern England will move away northeastwards. Another fairly deep Atlantic low will then track northeast towards Western Ireland overnight. Frontal troughs will continue to affect northern and western areas. Heavier rain over Scotland soon clearing but spells of rain or drizzle are likely to return at times to the north and west. Drier and brighter in the east and with shelter from the wind. Strong winds developing again in the north and west, with gales into Western Ireland and, perhaps, some Irish Sea coasts later in the night. Highs 15 to 18C in the north and west, 22 to 24C across the southeast.

Wednesday
Low pressure to the northwest of Ireland moves northeast, driving cold / occluding frontal troughs east and south across Britain and Ireland. A shallow low is likely to move northeast into Southern Ireland overnight. Rain or drizzle, heavy at times, for Ireland and Scotland. Occasional drizzle is likely in western areas of England and Wales, with rain developing more widely across the north of England and Wales overnight. The east and southeast will remain dry with hazy sunshine, though. Strengthening south or southwest winds, with gales for Ireland, Scotland, Northern England and Wales, perhaps severe gales in some exposed locations, possible disruption or damage, but with the wind will ease markedly overnight. Highs 12 to 15C in Scotland, 18 to 21C Northern England and the Midlands and up to 23 or 24C towards the east and south.
