A sharp frost to start this morning across central and southern England, Wales and Ireland. Further north there will be more cloud than recently. Most are dry although there is the threat of some patchy drizzle over the hills of Scotland as well as northwest England. Good periods of sunshine further south. The afternoon sees the cloud over much of England and Wales tending to break with sunny spells breaking through. More cloud for Scotland and northwest England, again with the chance of some drizzle on hills. Breezy in Scotland. Tops at 5 to 7C.


Wednesday Night
Mist and fog patches will be developing over much of England, Wales and Ireland tonight. These could be dense in places. Broken cloud for much of northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Drizzle and patchy rain in northwest Scotland as well as parts of southwest Scotland. Frost in the far south again with lows at -3C in more sheltered areas, 3C under the cloudier skies to the north. Staying breezy in northern Scotland.


Thursday
Highs pressure is going to be centred over southwestern parts of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Morning mist and fog patches for much of Wales, central and southern England as well as the whole of Ireland. These lifting slowly. Broken cloud for northern England and Scotland with a risk of some patchy rain in the far north. Little changes into this afternoon with some sunny spells to the south, but always more cloud towards the north. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England.


Friday
High pressure is going to be centred over the country on Friday. There could be mist and fog patches in the morning, but these lifting slowly to low cloud. In some areas the fog patches may linger all day. Rather murky for many with the risk of some drizzle here and there, mostly on hills. Highs at 6 to 9C.
