Monday
Very windy across England and Wales as an area of strong winds push northward into Wales, the North Midlands and into northern England. Gusts to 60 mph are possible over high ground. Outbreaks of rain will affect Wales along with central and southern parts of England. This will be quite heavy across Wales and the south west. In the afternoon this rain tracks up into northern England as it turns more showery in the south. A cold, frosty morning across Scotland and Northern Ireland and dry here with good sunny spells. Expect maximums of 2 to 12 Celsius north to south.

Monday night
It continues windy this evening and through the night with wind gusts up to 60 mph over the Pennines. A persistent are of heavy rain will affect Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland this evening and then spreads into parts of northern Scotland. This will fall as snow over the Grampians and Highlands. A band of rain will also affect western parts of Wales with showers across the south. A milder night tonight. Expect minimum temperatures of 3 to 5 Celsius for northern Britain and 5 to 9 Celsius in the south.

Tuesday
Another windy day to come and feeling quite chilly. Best of the sunshine today will be across Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it's staying cloudy with periods of rain. The rain turns lighter through the day as it becomes dry across most of Scotland and the far south of England. With light winds and clear spells, a frost is expected across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. We keep lots of cloud in the south with a few spots of rain. Expect top temperatures of 4 to 9 Celsius.

A brisk north east wind develops across England and Wales which brings in a lot of cloud to Wales and central and southern parts of England. Most parts of Britain should be dry today with sunny spells in the north as high pressure builds. A colder, dry night to come and it remains windy across England and Wales. A frost re-develops across Scotland, north west England and Northern Ireland in the night. Look for high temperatures of 3 to 8 Celsius.
