Few showers southwest
Dry for most

Thursday
A mostly dry day across much of the UK and Ireland. Cloud in the far south of Ireland and southwest England will allow for a scattering of showers to develop through the morning and into the afternoon. A few of these reaching southern Wales. A further area of thicker cloud slips south through Scotland. Elsewhere cloud will be broken with some bright or sunny spells. Feeling cool in eastern Scotland and the far northeast of England. Highs at 22C in southeast England, 18 to 20C for many, but just 7C in eastern Scotland.

Thursday Night
A few showers tonight in eastern Ireland, Wales and southern parts of England, these being well isolated. Tending to be drier elsewhere with clear spells. A touch of frost in central Scotland. Lows near 0 to 4C in northern areas, a milder 8C in the south.

Friday
High pressure to the northeast of Scotland on Friday. Low pressure over the Bay of Biscay. An east to southeast flow affects all areas. Weak fronts in the south will be bringing showery outbreaks of rain, some of it thundery, to the far south of Ireland, Wales and southern England. Northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland stay dry with sunny spells. A cold day over eastern coasts at 9C, but nearer 14 to 16 for other areas.

Saturday
High pressure stays to the northeast of Scotland on Saturday. Lower pressure to the south brings cloud into Ireland, Wales and southern England with the risk of some showery rain in the southwest. The risk of a few spots of rain in northwest England at first. Other areas should be dry with sunshine the best of it in the north. Highs around 8C over eastern coasts, but more generally 13 to 17C.
