Bursts of rain developing
North stays dry

Friday
Outbreaks of rain will spread erratically northwards across southern counties of England through the day, some persistent and heavy bursts with possible thunderstorms, but these very hit and miss. Later an increasing risk of rain moving further into the Midlands and Wales. Further north generally dry all day. Variable amounts of high level cloud. Sunniest toward the northwest. Highs 10 to 17C, coolest along North Sea coasts.


Friday night
Central and southern England and Wales are likely to see rain with some heavy bursts continue into the night. Intensity varied locally, with some places seeing very little, whilst others see a few hours of heavy rain. Rain tending to edge further north, but the far north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland likely staying dry with varied high level cloud. Frost in Highland glens. Lows 0 to 5C in the north, although southern Britain staying at 7 to 10C.


Saturday
Areas of rain will move around slowly across England & Wales. Local heavy downpours or thundery outbreaks possible, but these very hit and miss. Fairly cloudy, hazy sunshine. Generally dry for most of Scotland, with sunniest skies toward the northwest. A few pulses of rain may move into Ireland from the east. Temperatures varied, coolest where rain occurs, highs 8 to 17C.
 


Sunday
High pressure centred over the North Sea maintains an east to southeasterly airflow across the country. Most places dry with variable cloud and sun. Chance of an isolated burst of rain in western areas. Feeling cool in the breeze near eastern coasts, only 10C or below. Warmest across central and western areas, highs of 17 to 19C.
