Turning wetter for southwest England and the far southwest of Wales this afternoon too. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.

Low pressure east of the country on Wednesday. A bright morning for most with sunny spells, although showers affecting eastern coasts and hills. An area of showers extends through western Wales and southwest England with more coud here. Further showers or patchy rain in northern and western Scotland, drier in the east and south. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure building on Thursday. There could still be some showers in East Anglia and southeast England at first, although these should fade. Fair for most other areas with sunny spells and dry weather. Cloud may increase in the west of Ireland later as a front approaches. Highs at 13 to 16C.
