Spells of rain, some heavy, for Scotland and Northern Ireland clearing in the morning to drier, brighter and relatively cooler weather moving in behind. The rain affecting northern England, Wales, the west Midlands and southwest England in the afternoon. The south and east of England stay dry with sunny spells and feeling pleasantly warm. High cloud building from the northwest. Brisk southwesterly breezes, strongest in the north and west. Highs at 15 to 22C, warmest southeast.

Outbreaks of rain move into central and southern areas, but rain tending to break up as fronts weaken. Extensively cloudy for much of England and Wales. Drier, brighter and relatively cooler weather further north and west. A few showers for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 15C north to 19C south.
