Monday
Rain as day breaks across the far south of England, but this clears away quickly to the south. Much brighter and feeling colder for other areas as the strong northwest wind brings sunny spells. There will be showers in northern and western Scotland as well as north and west Wales and the Midlands. These showers continue into the afternoon, being driven on by the strong northwest wind and it stays cold, bright and breezy for most. Many areas away from exposure to the wind will be staying dry and bright throughout. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland to 15C in southern England.

Monday Night
A wet night in northern Scotland with frequent showers merging to longer spells of rain here. Showers affecting western coasts and hills, and blowing through the Cheshire Gap into the Midlands, A few showers on eastern coasts too as well as affecting Northern Ireland. Drier in the south of the UK and other areas of Ireland, although some rain may affect the far west of Ireland in the early hours. A windy night for all. Chilly with lows of 4 to 8C for most.

Tuesday
Low pressure is to the east on Tuesday. A cold, northwest wind will be bringing showers onto western coasts and hills, some of them heavy. More persistent rain in northern and eastern Scotland where the showers group together. This arrea of rain then slips south into northern England, northern Wales and the northern Midlands in the afternoon. It may turn into a damp day across East Anglia too. More rain in the far west of Ireland. Some sunnier spells in southern England and eastern Scotland. Feeling cold for all with temperatures at 16C in the far south, 11C in Scotland and northern England.

Wednesday
Low pressure east of the British Isles on Wednesday. There will be some showers around the western, northern and eastern coasts. Some bright or sunny spells with more persistent showers in northwest Scotland with the risk of an early ground frost. Further showers in Ireland. Staying cold with a risk of a morning ground frost in sheltered areas of Wales, northern England and Scotland. Highs at 11 to 16C.
