Cold start, then fair

Sunday
A chilly morning with sunny spells and dry weather across much of England and Wales. Cloud increases across Scotland and northern England as well as Ireland. It will be dry except for a few spots of drizzle over western Ireland. Winds increasing this afternoon bringing some more persistent rain to northwest Scotland, this turning heavy at times. Staying dry for other areas, and still some sunny spells to the south. Highs at 19C in the sunshine in the southeast, nearer 12C in northern Scotland.


Sunday Night
A windy, wet evening for Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northern England. Turning drier to the north with drier conditions inland and feeling colder too. Starting dry for the rest of England and Wales,but then rain and strong winds pushing south through the early hours. Lows near 4C in Scotland, 11C in southern England.
 


Monday
A change in the weather today as a cold front clears southern England taking a band of squally rain and strong wind gusts with it. Much brighter weather for the rest of the country. There will be showers around western and northern coasts and hills, a few troubling eastern coasts too. Feeling colder for all too. The afternoon stays bright with sunny spells, but a few showers in the north and west. Strong to gale force northwest winds. Highs at 8C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern England.


Tuesday
Low pressure east of Scotland on Tuesday. There will be showers and rain in central and northern Scotland. Sunny spells for other areas with a scattering of showers. Thicker cloud and more rain moving into Ireland and then Wales and southwest England later in the afternoon. The rain could turn heavy in Ireland. Some showers in northern England and the Midlands too. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 15C in the far south of England.
