Heavy rain in south
Colder, showery north

Saturday
Heavy periods of rain on Saturday morning across Southwest England, Wales, the Midlands and Northern England. This rain soon spreading through East Anglia and the south-east. There will be some local flooding especially in Wales and the Midlands. By contrast Scotland and much of Ireland will be much brighter and colder. Showers affecting northern and western Scotland and a risk of gales in the far north of Scotland too. Southeast England will also be windy. This afternoon sees rain across the Midlands, southern and south eastern England. Drier weather moving into northern England and North Wales. Staying cold in Scotland and Ireland. With further gales in northern Scotland and showers in the north and west. Temperatures will rise to a very mild 17°C in the south-east but just 6°C in northern Scotland.


Saturday Night
Rain affecting southern and Southeast England at first will slowly clear away later in the night. Windy with further showers in northern and western Scotland, these turning heavy and more persistent at times with gales in the north and east. The showers could turn to snow over the Highlands. Most of the places will be dry with clear skies and feeling much colder. Low temperatures of 1°C in Scotland and 6°C in southern England.


Sunday
High pressure is to the west of Ireland on Sunday. The cloud associated with the front which will be clearing from southern England, will affect southern parts of the UK during the day leading to hazy sunshine here. Much brighter through central and northern areas and feeling a lot colder for everywhere. Showers will be heavy at times across northern Scotland, with the risk of some blizzard conditions over the highlands and parts of the Grampians. Further showers may affect western Scotland, the north coast of Northern Ireland and one or two in Northwest England. Temperatures rising to 5°C in northern Scotland, 11°C in southern England.


Monday
High pressure remains to the west of Scotland on Monday with lower pressure to the east. All areas will have a cold day. Further showers affect northern and eastern Scotland with one or two running down the eastern coasts of England as well as northern coasts of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere the day is going to be sunny and dry. Highs at 7 to 10C.
