Rain this morning in Scotland as well as the north and east of England. Sunshine in Ireland, although some showers in the west. Drier too in Wales and southwest England with the weather becoming brighter here. This direr and brighter weather reaches eastern areas by late morning to leave a mostly dry afternoon. Best sunshine in the west, although always a chance of a shower in the west. Further rain in northern and eastern Scotland this afternoon, but drier weather to the west and south will be reaching these areas by late afternoon. Turning windy in Ireland. Highs at 8C in central Scotland, widely 11 to 14C but 15C in East Anglia.

Wednesday Night
A cool night with skies becoming clearer. It is likely to be mostly dry, a few mist and fog patches forming in more sheltered areas by the morning. Scattered showers affecting western coasts of Wales and southwest England. Windier in Ireland with showers in the west and south. Lows at 3 to 6C.
 

Thursday
Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Thursday bringing wind and rain across Ireland and into southwest Scotland. Showers over Wales and southwest England, but a drier and brighter start to the day in central and eastern areas. Into the afternoon there will be more wind and rain in Ireland and much of central and western Scotland, parts of northwest England and northwest Wales. Sunshine and showers for the rest of England whilst it stays drier in northern Scotland. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Friday
Low pressure remains close to the Ireland on Friday. This brings an unsettled day with frequent, heavy showers. The showers could merge into longer spells of rain with a risk of thunder and hail too. Localised flooding could occur. It may be drier in western Scotland, whilst the wettest of the weather may be in southern England and Wales. Highs at 12 to 15C.
