Eastern parts should be drier and brighter with some sunny spells. This afternoon is going to be staying windy with widespread severe gales. More showers or longer spells of rain, most in the west. Highs at 4 to 12C.

Thursday Night
A chill y and windy night ahead. There will be showers, although these fading. The showers will be wintry on hills. Turning drier in the west where there will be clear skies. A frost by morning in western areas. Lows at -2 to 3C.

 
 
 

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds on Friday. This should allow Friday to be mostly dry with sunny spells. There is a low risk of a shower in central and eastern areas. Thicker cloud and increased winds in Ireland, Wales and western parts of Wales and England. A risk of some rain in Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK. Highs at 5 to 11C.
 

Saturday
Fronts passing eastwards through the country on Saturday. These bring stronger winds and periods of rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Further periods of rain in the afternoon over Wales and southwest England as well as southern Ireland. Showers for the west of Scotland, some merging to longer spells of rain. A windy day. Highs at 8 to 12C.
