This rain may slip north ito other parts of the Midlands and East Anglia as well as into mid Wales by the afternoon. Drier in north Wales, northern Midlands, northern England and Ireland, feeling cooler here too. Cooler in Scotland with sunny spells, a few showers in the west. Highs at 5C in the cloud and rain in the south, more generally 6 to 8C.

Cloudy through much of England and Wales tonight. Spells of rain and drizzle across southern England and Wales together with mist and fog on hills. Clearer skies in northern England and Scotland as well as much of Scotland. Lows at 6C in southern England, but around -2 to 1C under clearer skies further north.

High pressure over northern parts of Scotland on Friday. Clousier skies in the far south of England, with some showers over parts of East Anglia and southeast England. A few showers over northeast England and eastern Scotland too. Drier in the west. Best of the sunshine in northern England and Scotland as well as parts of Wales. Highs at 7 to 10C.

High pressure remains to the east with lower pressure south of Ireland. There will be cloud and rain in Ireland. Broken cloud over the rest of the UK, sunny spells in the west. It will be breezy across many areas, feeling cool in the breeze. Highs at 7 to 10C.
