Unsettled
Rain, showers, high winds

Saturday
A deep and broad area of low pressure sitting just to the west of us on Saturday sweeps in wet and windy weather from the west as fronts pass through. Persistent and heavy rain will gradually clear eastwards through the morning to see for most a drier period with sunny spells, before another band of heavier rain is expected to push into western areas earlier in the afternoon. Expect strong to near gale force winds blowing blustery showers behind. Feeling much chillier in the wind though temperatures will be around 8 to 11C.

Saturday Night
Staying windy overnight, particularly so across the northwest of Scotland, with blustery, heavy and frequent showers across western areas, tending to be drier elsewhere. Lows around 4 to 7C.

Sunday
Sunday will sees winds ease. An unsettled day though again with showers as well as longer spells of rain across western areas of the UK and Ireland. Tending to be drier further east with the best of the sunny spells. Showery rain expected through parts of southern and central England later on. Highs slightly cooler at 6 to 9C.

Monday
Low pressure sits to the north of the country on Monday and drags across a cooler north-westerly wind flow. Winds could strengthen for a time as the day progresses across the south and west. Showers affecting western areas, some merging into longer spells of rain, often heavy over northern and western coasts and hill. Tending to be drier further east. Highs at a chillier 5 to 8C.
