Chilly nights, some frost & fog
Largely dry

Friday
Low cloud, mist and possible fog expected across places in the north of the UK and through Northern Ireland before many lifting through the day and some sunny spells developing. Outbreaks of rain move across north and west Scotland as well as Northern Ireland later in the day. Breezy in the far north. Otherwise mostly dry with variable cloud and some sunny spells, though scattered showers pushing on to some eastern regions of England cannot be ruled out. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Friday Night
Mist and fog developing more widely overnight with some dense patches of freezing fog possible across central and southern England and Wales where lows will drop below freezing for most. Patchy rain moves southwards across Scotland and Northern Ireland into northern England by dawn. Otherwise largely dry.

Saturday
A chilly and frosty start for many in the south on Saturday with places seeing freezing fog for a time, some stubborn to lift. Variable cloud cover generally on Saturday with patchy rain about as a weak front slides south. Otherwise a dry day with some developing sunny spells. Turning breezier in the far north later where there will be more frequent showery rain. A cool feeling day with highs at 5 to 8C.

Sunday
A cool start on Sunday but temperatures recover well through the day. Breezier for all and windy in the north where there will be more cloud and outbreaks of rain, heavy across western Scotland. Otherwise, a largely dry day, though blustery showers are expected across western coasts and hills. A cool feeling day and cold in that wind. Highs at 5 to 8C.
