Few showers northwest

Tuesday
Staying windy through Scotland and northern England today. There will be a few spots of rain on windward facing hills and coasts, but for most it is going to be dry with some bright or sunny spells. For England, Wales and Ireland it is going to be a cool day but a bright and dry one with some sunny spells. Staying dry for most this afternoon although some heavier bursts of rain may arrive in northwest Scotland by evening. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.


Tuesday Night
A dry night with some clear spells across central and southern England and Wales as well as southern Ireland tonight. The winds picking up again through Scotland as the night progresses. Becoming wet in northern and western Scotland, some of it heavy. Dry to the east. A chilly night at 6 to 9C.
 


Wednesday
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Wednesday with higher pressure to the south. A front slips south through Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England taking rain with it. Brighter, showery weather follows to Scotland, some of the showers heavy. Drier in southern England and Wales as well as the far south of Ireland with some brighter skies here and becoming breezier later. A cold day in the rain in the north at just 10 to 14C, nearer 17C in southern England.


Thursday
Rain clears southern parts of England on Thursday morning, this bringing a wet start to the day for many. Following will be a cold northwesterly air flow. Showers affecting coasts of Scotland, western England, Wales and Ireland, with some heavy showers over eastern coasts in the afternoon. Elsewhere the showers will be more scattered with some sunny spells too. Highs at 11 to 15C.
