Cloudy & damp
Gales & rain to west

Thursday
Cloudy through Thursday morning with an area of patchy rain developing across southeast England and the eastern Midlands. This area of rain turns more persistent as it heads northwards through the morning and into northeast England in the afternoon. More persistent rain and windier conditions moving into Ireland with the rain becoming heavy in the south and east of Ireland. This heavier rain then spreads to Wales and southwest England in the afternoon and evening. Highs at 12 to 16C.

Thursday Night
A cloudy night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most of it light and patchy. It will be windy through southern Ireland and southern parts of England and Wales with those winds to gale force. Lighter winds further north although still cloudy with some periods of rain. Lows at 8 to 12C.

Friday
Low pressure clears east on Friday taking outbreaks of rain with it. A ridge of high pressure builds through the country behind the rain band bringing drier weather and sunny spells. Increased winds and rain spreading into Ireland in the morning and then to southwest England and west Wales by the evening. Highs at 11 to 19C.

Saturday
A deep area of low pressure passing east on Saturday. Whilst detail remains difficult it is likely that rain, showers and severe gales will be widespread. Winds may be strong enough to cause some damage over Northern Ireland, northern, central and southern England as well as Wales. Rain clears eastwards but then heavy showers follow to the west. Highs at 11 to 17C.
