Rain north & west
Breezy for most

Thursday
A damp and breezy day for many on Wednesday. A band of rain slips south through southern and central Scotland and Northern Ireland, then into Northern England and Wales by the afternoon before arriving in the Midlands and southwest England. Dry in central and eastern areas at first with a few bright spells, but southern coasts always seeing a fair amount of cloud and some spots of drizzle. Showers follow to western Scotland later and into Northern Ireland too. Highs at 14 to 19C.


Thursday Night
Patchy rain through Wales, the Midlands and eastern England as well as southern England later. The rain fades as the night progresses and then most places become dry. A few showers in northern and western Scotland where it will be windy too. Lighter winds further south. Lows at 8 to 12C.
 


Friday
Low pressure to the north with higher pressure to the south on Friday. A broad and brisk southwesterly flow will be bringing cloud and rain through Ireland and western Scotland, the rain heavy at times. Further periods of rain for northwest England with some rain in western Wales too. Low cloud and drizzle in southwest England. Elsewhere the day is likely to be dry with bright or sunny spells developing and becoming very warm in the east. Highs at 12C in northwest Scotland, 21C in eastern England.


Saturday
Pressure builds across the near continent on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure extends into the UK bringing bright and dry as well as warm weather into England and Wales. More persistent rain over western Ireland and western Scotland. Drier in eastern Scotland. Highs at 22C in the sunshine to the south, 12C in western Scotland.
