Thursday
Severe galeas to start Thursday morning across much of England. Gusts of over 50mph could occur leading to some disruption to transport. These winds should ease into the early afternoon. Rain will be affecting much of northern England and eastern Scotland, with showers on western coasts and hills. Elsewhere cloud will be tending to break with some brighter spells coming through. More persistent rain and increasing winds return to southern and western Ireland later. Highs at 10C in the far south, 7C in northern Scotland.

Thursday Night
An area of strong winds and rain pushes east and north overnight. Severe gales are likely for many areas with gusts of 70mph or more over western coasts and hills. The rain is likely to be heaviest in western Ireland and western Scotland as well as west Wales and southwest Scotland. Lighter rain to the east and south. Lows near 6 to 10C.
 

Friday
A deep area of low pressure off northwest Ireland on Friday. This brings widespread severe gales to much of the country. Gusts of 70mph on western and southern coasts, 50mph inland. Plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain, although eastern areas of England may be drier, perhaps with a few brighter spells. Heavier periods of rain across Ireland and into Scotland and the west of England and Wales, a risk of localised flooding. A mild day for all at 9 to 12C.

Saturday
The area of low pressure drifts to the over Scotland on Saturday. Further seere gales in Scotland, gusts of 70mph, although these easing slowly fro the west. Rain affecting much of central and northern Scotland, but falling as snow on the hills. Some showers over other western coasts and hills, but tending to become drier and brighter in more central and eastern parts of England, Wales and Ireland. Highs at 7 to 10C.
