Early morning mist and fog

Monday
A ridge of high pressure extends across much of the UK and Ireland on Monday leading to a mostly dry and bright day. Some mist or fog patches for central and southern England first thing but these should lift and clear. Cloudier for western parts of Ireland and Scotland. the Western and Northern Isles and northwestern Scotland could see light rain or drizzle persist through the day. High temperatures at 11 to 17C.


Monday Night
Away from western Ireland and northern Scotland there will be clear skies overnight which will allow temperatures to fall close to freezing over parts of southern and eastern England which could lead to a touch of ground frost first thing in these areas. Additionally some mist or fog patches could develop overnight for southern and eastern parts of England too. Some light rain or drizzle possible for northwestern parts of Ireland and Scotland. Over night lows at 1 to 7C.


Tuesday
High pressure remains to the southeast of the UK and continues to influence the weather. There will be some morning mist and fog patches, these dense in places and slow to clear. Once they have, the day will be dry and fine with lots of sunshine. Cloudier in northwestern Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 16 or 17C in the sunshine in southern England.
 


Wednesday
High pressure remains in control of conditions through Wednesday. Early morning mist and fog in much of England, Wales, eastern Ireland and southern Scotland will slowly clear to leave a sunny day. Cloudier for western Ireland and central and northern Scotland. Highs at 11 to 17C.
