Fresher, mainly dry
A few showers in west

Monday
Brisk north west winds, strongest across Scotland and northern parts of England, will give a fresher day to much of the country today. Expect a good deal of fair, dry weather across much of the United Kingdom today. Lots of cloud around today but sunnier spells tend to develop through the day. There will be a few scattered showers around, mostly across western parts of Scotland, North Wales and a few may run in through the Cheshire Gap towards the West Midlands. Expect maximum temperatures of 15 to 21 Celsius.

Monday night
It continues quite breezy for the evening and into the night, especially across Scotland and north east England. It will be a fine, dry evening across the country as any residual showers fade and most of the cloud melts away. A cooler night than of late with all parts dry and mostly clear. Expect minimums of 9 to 12 Celsius.

Tuesday
We keep brisk north west winds across Scotland and northern England today but the winds will be lighter towards the south. Central, southern and eastern parts of England and Scotland along with southwest England and eastern Wales will be mainly dry with the best of the day's sunshine. More cloud is likely in the west that could bring in a few scattered showers. A fine, dry evening to come. In the night an area of rain spills in across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Expect top temperatures of 15 to 22 Celsius.

Wednesday
Some morning sunshine to come across central and southern parts of England before it turns more cloud in the afternoon. To the north across northern England, North Wales into Scotland and Northern Ireland it's a cloudy, damp day with outbreaks of rain. Throughout the evening and the night further spells of rain and drizzle will linger across the northern half of the United Kingdom. Cloudy in the south but dry. Expect top temperatures of 14 to 20 Celsius.
