A spell of unsettled weather ahead for the Mediterranean
A dry and bright start to the day for Portugal and Spain before a band of heavy rain moves into the western half of Iberia. A dry and bright day for the Balearics. After a wet morning and afternoon, it will be a bright end to the day for Corsica and Sardinia. Some particularly heavy bursts of thundery rain affecting Italy through the day while heavy showers will move into northwestern parts of Greece too. Heavy showers affecting southern parts of Turkey too throughout the day.
Heavy rain and snow should clear southeastern France before a band of heavy rain moves into the northwest of the country. Showery in the west but dry and bright for central parts of France. Mostly overcast with a chance of showers for the Low Countries. Cloudy too for Germany with showers in the west. Further heavy snowfall is expected for the Swiss Alps while showers will affect Austria. Mostly dry and bright for Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
A cloudy day for Denmark with a chance of showers in the west. Dry and bright for the Baltic States. A band of rain, sleet and snow will stretch from central Sweden across central and northern Finland. Elsewhere in Scandinavia it should be dry with some good sunny spells.
Showers, with a band of particularly heavy rain embedded, will spread eastward across Portugal and Spain through the day reaching the Balearics by Friday evening. A mostly dry and bright day for Corsica, Sardinia and Italy though some heavy showers could still impact southern parts of Italy and Sicily. Heavy rain and gusty winds will move into Greece from the west through the afternoon while any morning showers over Turkey should ease to leave a mostly dry and bright afternoon.
A mostly dry but overcast day for France though some showers may develop over western and southern areas. Overcast too for the Low Countries with a chance of showers in the Netherlands. Rain will ease over western Germany to leave an overcast but dry afternoon while Poland and the Czech Republic will see some good sunny spells with a chance of a few spots of light rain. Snow will ease for the Swiss Alps to leave a bright and dry day on Friday.
A fair day for Denmark - cloudier in the south with the best chance of sunshine in the north. A dry and bright day too for the Baltics. Early showers should ease for Finland to leave a dry and mostly bright day. Southern parts of Sweden could see some snow showers while it will be a mostly dry and bright day for Norway.
