Rain in west

Wednesday
Plenty of cloud affecting much of the country this morning. There will be some spots of drizzle over high ground at first. These fading away and then most places will be dry with some bright spells forming to the north of hills where sheltered from the southerly wind. More persistent rain crosses Ireland this morning, reaching the west of Scotland this afternoon and then into the far west of Wales, southwest England and northwest England this evening. Dry with lots of sunshine in western Ireland. Highs at 8 to 11C.


Wednesday Night
A band of rain crosses Scotland and northern England tonight. Drizzle and low cloud affecting much of Wales and southwest England, with the rain arriving in northeast England and the Midlands as well as central southern England during the early hours of Thursday morning. Tending to be drier in East Anglia and southeast England with broken cloud here. Drier for Irland and western Scotland. Lows at 2 to 5C.


Thursday
High pressure is centred to the east of the UK on Thursday, low pressur is to the west.A weak front will bring cloud and some outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle across much of northern central and southern England. This easing away as the morning progresses although staying rather cloudy and murky into the afternoon. Rain in western Ireland will be edging eastwards during the day, Probably drier and brighter in northern Scotland. Top temperatures at 6 to 11C.


Friday
A slack pressure flow over the UK and Ireland on Friday. There will be plenty of cloud around again, with some fog patches too. Rather a murky day with low cloud shrouding the hills. A front affects western Scotland ,western Wales and western England bringing rain here. Drier over much of Ireland, although some patchy rain in the east. Cooler for many at 6 to 9C, but as high as 11C in southern England.
