Sunday
Low pressure moves over Scandinavia while a transient ridge of higher pressure moves just to the west of the UK. A northwesterly flow over northern and eastern areas brings a cool day with frequent showers for coastal areas. Further south a trailing front over central England, Wales and northern Ireland also brings showers, these locally quite heavy. Drier for the far southwest of the UK while another area of rain moves into the far southwest of Ireland later. High temperatures at mild 22C in the south and cool 16C in the north.

Sunday Night
Mostly dry overnight though scattered showers continue for north-facing coasts while southern parts of Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK could see heavier outbreaks of rain. The clearest skies over northern and eastern areas with overnight lows at 7C in the north, 13C in the south. Temperatures falling to the low single-digits over rural spots in northern Scotland.

Monday
Starting murky to the west on Monday with patchy outbreaks of rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as across western parts of Wales, northwest England and west Scotland with low pressure to the west of Scotland. Meanwhile, central and eastern areas will be dry and fine with sunshine. Patchy rain spreads into northern and eastern parts of England through the afternoon, staying mostly dry for Scotland. Meanwhile cloud builds over Ireland with rain arriving from the southwest later accompanied by strengthening winds. Highs range from 15 to 22C.

Tuesday
An unsettled day on Tuesday as a deep area of low pressure tracks eastwards across Ireland and the northern half of the UK. A band of rain, heavy at times, will push east with winds strengthening for all. Gales affecting coastal regions across the UK and Ireland. The far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles may well saty dry but most other areas will see some rain. Behind the rain band expect a mixture of sunny spells and some scattered showers. High temperatures range from 14 to 21C.
