Friday
A much brighter day for Friday with a widespread early frost and icy roads and pavements. They will be further wintry showers affecting northern and western Scotland as well as the north and western coast of Ireland. Northwest England may see a few snow showers too. For most places it is going to be a sunny morning although there is a further risk of a few wintry showers in the far south west of England. Little changes expected through this afternoon and it remains feeling cold. Highs at 3 to 6C.

Friday Night
A further widespread frost overnight. There will be some snow showers in northern and western Scotland and across the western coast of England and Wales as well as the north and west coasts of Ireland. An area of more persistent sleet and perhaps some snow could affect far southern counties of England for a time. Most areas they will remain dry. Lows at -10C over the snow fields of Scotland, more general 0 to -4C.

Saturday
Another cold day for Saturday. Low-pressure north of Scotland will again be bringing some snow showers to the coasts of northern and western Scotland with a risk of one or two heavy ones affecting hills in western Scotland too. Scattered snow showers across Northwest England and parts of Wales. Many areas should be dry with some sunny spells, although an area of more persistent sleet and snow may drift into western and southern Ireland. Temperatures at 3 to 5C.

Sunday
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Sunday. There is the threat of an area of more persistent sleet and snow passing eastwards through Wales, the Midlands and southern England during Sunday perhaps giving a covering of snow in places. More persistent snow showers will also affect northern Wales and Northwest England as well as the north and west of Scotland and Northern Ireland. More eastern areas tending to stay drier and brighter. Cold for all. Temperatures at 2 to 4C for most, perhaps 5C in the far southwest and Ireland.
