Mediterranean thunderstorms, fair to the north

Tuesday
Low pressure to the south brings further extensive clusters of thunderstorms. Western Spain and Portugal are likely to be dry, whilst storms form for eastern Spain and the Pyrenees. Also thunderstorms forming increasingly into afternoon over southern France and the spine of Italy. Local storms also popping up on Corsica and Sardinia, whilst Sicily may escape dry. A few thunde showers for mainland Greece and southern Turkey, but dry over most of the Greek islands.
Northern France, the Low Countries and Germany will be dry with plenty of sunshine. Scattered showers for Poland. A risk of further bursts of thundery rain over the Alps through Switzerland and west Austria. Largely dry for the Balkans and just an off shower for Hungary and northern Austria.
Extensive sunshine for Scandinavia as high pressure over northern Europe maintains dry and warm weather. Chance of a local shower forming in Finland. Breezier in the far north.

Wednesday
Fair for most of Spain and Portugal today. A few showers in the Balearics, some heavy. Thunderstorms afecting most of Italy, Corsica and Sardinia, some of these being torrential. Scattered showers in Greece. Dry in western Turkey but showers in the east.
France will be warm and sunny. Fair for the Low Countries and Germany. Some showers in southern Poland but otherwise fair. Hungary will be dry with sunny spells. Showers for Austria and Switzerland.
Denmark will have a fair day with plenty of sunshine. Staying fine in the Baltic States and Finland with more sunshine here. Sweden will be dry with plenty of sunshine. Scattered showers in southern Norway, but fair to the north.
