A spell of wet & windy weather affects northern and western Europe


Sunday
Heavy outbreaks of rain spread across northwestern Spain and northern Portugal. Staying dry and bright to the south and southeast. Dry and bright for the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and much of Italy - just the odd light shower for northern parts of Italy. Isolated showers too for eastern and southern parts of Greece and western Turkey but otherwise a sunny and dry day here.
Heavy outbreaks of rain also spread from the northwest across France, the Low Countries and Germany accompanied by strong winds reaching western Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland later. Rain becoming increasingly showery further to the southeast. Staying dry for Austria, Slovakia and Hungary but becoming increasingly cloudy here.
A windy day with heavy outbreaks of rain for Denmark as well as southern portions of Norway and Sweden. Rain turns to snow further north. Mostly dry but overcast for the Baltic States and Finland though rain, snow and strong winds arrive here later in the day.

Monday
A fair and mostly dry day for Spain, Portugal and the Balearic Islands though there could be isolated showers for northern coastal regions of Spain. Showery outbreaks of rain for parts of Italy too - these mostly to the north and west. A bright and dry day for Greece and Turkey though showers develop for western Greece and southern Turkey later in the day.
Showery outbreaks of rain, some of them heavy, affect France and the Low Countries but tend to clear to the southeast through the afternoon. Showers affect Germany and Poland too though they tend to ease over Poland later. Heavy snowfall for the Swiss Alps and into western Austria as well. Cloudy with showers for eastern Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
A breezy day with frequent showers for Denmark and the Baltic States while an area of low pressure brings strong winds and heavy snowfall to parts of Finland. Snow showers affect western parts of Norway and central and northern Sweden while southern Sweden stays mostly dry.
