Early rain in southern Scotland & Northern Ireland will clear. Bright with scattered showers for the Highlands. Gusty winds for Wales & northern England. Very humid, 24 to 28C Midlands & south-east, 17 to 21C north & west.

Wednesday night
Patchy rain and generally murky conditions extend southwards across England and Wales during the evening into the night. Local heavy bursts may develop along the front for central-southern counties later in the night. The rain will tend to fade from northern areas, leaving clearing skies for northern England. Clusters of showers for north-west Scotland. Staying humid in the south, 14 to 18C, fresher for northern regions, lows 8 to 11C, locally cooler in rural areas.

Thursday
A cold front clears slowly across southern England. Rain may linger for many hours in the south & south-east, some heavy bursts, but fading. Brighter skies and sunny spells will follow across central England and Wales, and the south-west will also brighten up. Scattered showers for northern Britain and Ireland, heavy and locally frequent in western Scotland. A fresh westerly breeze. Highs 17 to 21C, locally up to 23C and still humid in the south-east. Nearer 15C in north-west Scotland.

Friday
A fresh west to northwesterly breeze. Sunshine and showers. Rain most frequent toward the north-west. Heavy and frequent showers possible across the Scottish Highlands. Mainly dry central and southern England, with just brief passing showers. Good amounts of sun around the south coast. A few heavy showers reaching eastern districts in the afternoon. Fairly cool, just 14 to 17C Scotland, Ireland and the north-west of England & Wales. Up to 18 to 21C Midlands and south.
