Most in east & north

Tuesday
Heavy bursts of rain afecting much of southern Scotland and northwest Scotland as well as western Ireland. An area of thundery showers passing through southern and eastern England, some of this heavy too. Rain spreads north into northern Scotland in the afternoon, although this should be getting lighter. Showers elsewhere, most focused around eastern and western coasts. Ireland has fewer showers with some sunny spells here. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 22C in southeast England.


Tuesday Night
Thundery showers again affecting eastern parts of the Midlands and East Anglia tonight, this area slipping into northeast England. A further area of showers or rain may be through Wales, eastern Ireland and southwest England. Scattered showers elsewhere. Probably drier in northwest England. Scotland has some rain affecting eastern coasts, but drier to the west. Ireland is likely to be drier too. Lows near 7 to 11C.


Wednesday
Low pressure is over the south of the UK on Wednesday. Rain, some of it heavy is likely to be affecting much of England and Wales, with this area spreading to eastern Ireland and northern England through the day. Localised flooding is possible, although drier weather arrives i the far south of England as the day progresses. Scotland is likely to be drier with a fair amount of cloud, but feeling chilly in the strong winds here. Highs at 13C in northern and eastern Scotland, a warmer 22C in southeast England.


Thursday
Low pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Periods of rain, some heavy is likely to be affecting much of England, Wales and Ireland. It is difficult to pinpoint where the most persistent rain will be at this stage. Probably drier in Scotland with some sunshine in the west, although cloud and drizzle may affect the east where it will be breezier too. Chilly for most with highs at 13 to 19C.
