Wednesday
A risk of some morning mist and fog patches in central, southern and eastern parts of England and Wales. These lifting to leave a dry day with good spells of sunshine throughout. Thicker cloud in western Scotland and Ireland as a weakening cold front edges eastwards. This brings outbreaks of rain, the heaviest in western Scotland. This afternoon sees what remains of the front into southern Scotland, northwest England and western Wales, giving a few spots of rain. Turning brighter, windier and fresher in western and northern Scotland as well as through Ireland where there will be a few showers in the west. Highs at 7 to 9C.

Wednesday Night
Increased cloud through England and Wales tonight. There could be an early frost in the south, together with some fog patches in sheltered areas. Cloudier and windier further north and west with some drizzle on western coasts and hills. More persistent rain and drizzle in western Scotland and western Ireland, but most of this will be light. Drier in eastern Scotland. A risk of gales in the west. Lows at 1 to 3C fr many, but 6C in western Scotland and western Ireland.

Thursday
A windy day as a shallow area of low pressure crosses northern Scotland. Severe gales in much of Scotland and northern England as well as Northern Ireland. Periods of rain, mostly over western coasts and hills here, the heaviest of the rain in western Scotland. Drier in southern Wales, southern and eastern England, although cloudy here. Increasingly misty and murky in central and southern areas. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Friday
Rain in England and Wales on Friday morning as a front passes east taking some heavy bursts of rain with it. Brighter weather with showers follows from the west, the showers heavy at times and bringing a risk of thundery. The heaviest of the showers in northwest Scotland. Gales to the north and west. Highs at 9 to 14C.
